This week we've decided to introduce some trends that interns here at Charlie Lapson are raving about. We decided to start off with our intern Helen's pick of nail polish colors for this season.

Nail polish is as part of an outfit as the clothes and shoes. So naturally, as the seasons change, and new color trends become popular, so do the shades for nail polish. Top 5 Purse Essentials

1. Sunglasses – Growing up in Southern California has taught me to ALWAYS bring along your sunglasses so that the sun doesn’t shine in my eyes!

2. Crystal Light – I like to spice up, or should I say sweeten up my water with a delicious, lemony, thirst quencher.

3. Flash drive – I always bring my flash drive with me everywhere. You never know, Charlie may need me to whip out a handbag sketch, or Photoshop some product shots on the go.

4. Showroom Keys – The most important item I need with me is my Showroom key. Without that, the interns and I won’t be able to get it and get to work!

5. Hand Lotion – The dry weather dries my skin out, therefore, I need to have my lotion with me at all times. Smells amazing too!

We’ve been watching the runway in search of the biggest trends for spring and summer of this year and have picked three of our favorite trends: Ballet Inspired, Ethnic/Tribal, and 70’s Pop Art. Here are some of our favorite looks from each theme.

Ballet Inspired

Pale colored leggings and drapey skirts are must haves. Ankle straps and metallic colors are used to give flats a new look. Pale, soft colors are used throughout to keep the look very light and airy.

Ethnic/Tribal

Handbags with unique graphic patterns are essential for the ethnic trend. Bright colored shift dresses make a bold tribal statement. Large necklaces and bracelets take on the ethnic trend with the distressed vintage look. This theme inspires new ways to wear turbans and other hair accessories. These pieces make a bold statement in all of the right ways.

70’s Pop Art

LACMA Explores the History of European Fashion

Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700-1915
Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700-1915 is the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s latest acquisition. This major collection of European men's, women's, and children's garments and accessories, according to the LACMA website, examines both “fashion's aesthetic and technical development from the Age of Enlightenment all the way to World War I.”
The evolution of luxurious textiles, tailoring techniques, and trims are presented in an open-space, warehouse style. There are wooden boxes painted matte gray and bold, capitalized Helvetica font announcing the collection at every corner. The pieces are suspended by clear threads within the cubes or displayed on life size, white mannequins complete with hairstyles of the time.
A fully finished men’s suit circa 1790 (France) in a wool plain weave, with sequins and metallic thread embroidered appliqués. The jacket alone weighs approximately six pounds.

A women’s dress by the House of Rouff circa 1897 in silk twill and silk cut velvet on twill foundation with a bow head piece. The headdress reminded me of how much history influences modern fashion as it bore a striking resemblance to one in a widespread 2009 Juicy Couture ad.

A men’s vest circa 1789-94 (France) in linen canvas with silk needlepoint. The body featured silk supplementary warp cut-pile trim and silk embroidery of a caterpillar and butterfly on the collar.

Hi everyone! We've been meaning to do an update and share with you all the things we're learning here at the Charlie Lapson showroom, but as usual it has been very hectic. Last week my big task was to organize and create press kits. If you don't know press kits are made up of six to 24 pages of products, celebrity sightings, and press clippings that showcase someone's work.

My fellow intern Rebecca and I have been organizing the different things that make up a press kit from products to celebrity sightings, and press from all over the world. Let me tell you there were tons of paper to file away! Pictured above and below are some of the press kits we were organizing and filing away. With Charlie traveling constantly press kits are his quickest way to showcase the work he's done to people. But due to this, press kits have piled up and needed much organizing. Yes it took a few weeks but we are glad to say this task is finally done and are in much better shape and form!

Seeing all the recognition Charlie has received all over the world was really cool. It reminded me that hard work pays off in the long run. Well back to more work! Until next time!

LA's Fashion's Night Out

TGIF! Again! I'm sooo excited to participate in LA's Fashion's Night Out. This is the first time LA is hosting it and the City of Angels is pulling out all the stops. All week we've been anxious and planning our night. All the interns will be going out together. First stop will be Melrose, where I will be going straight to Alexander McQueen to pick up one of the bracelets specially designed for FNO. He is one of my absolute FAVORITE designers, and I can't wait to own a piece of history from his legacy. After that, we'll be heading over to John Varvatos to get our portraits taken by legendary rock photographer Robert Knight. Personally, I'm super excited to meet Tarina Tarantino at her store. I'm a HUGE fan of her jewelry!! We will be sure to stop by Fred Segal to meet up with Paulie whom we met at the Reality Cares event during Emmy weekend. There is sooo much going on there I don't think we'll be able to see everything, but it is definitely worth stopping by and checking it out. The Beverly Center is going to be insane, and we will be braving the crowds to get a peek at Fendi's exhibition of Karl Lagerfeld's photography. We are going to try to catch one of the runway shows going on at center court, and then pop in and out of stores checking out all the celebrity sitings and DJ performances throughout the mall. Its gonna be a crazy evening of dancing and shopping so be sure to check it out! Time for me to go get ready!

Getting Through The Month!

These past two weeks have been hectic here in the showroom. I honestly don’t even know where to begin. One of the managers of the showroom is out of town so a lot of responsibilities have been delegated to many of the interns. With a showroom manger out of the showroom and the designer on business trips everything remains under control. This long project of taking inventory has weighed down on us and even though everyone had been working together to get it out of the way it is almost completed. From taking all of the wallets and handbags out of the silk bags and counting them to taking pictures and reorganizing them we are near the end of this long process.

One of the many perks of taking inventory is that you get to see products that you never knew existed. You also get a glimpse or a maybe even a mouthful of styles from past seasons such as; the color palette from Spring/Summer 2010. The pastels were one of my favorite color palettes that I had almost forgotten about. So, in the event of all of this inventory it turned out to be a reminiscing of the past and maybe getting a glimpse of what might be coming back.

We have not one but, two events. Readers - I give you our breaking point. In the midst of everything else that is going on and Charlie’s projects and our own projects here in the showroom we have to get through these two events smoothly. Mind you, there aren’t very many people here so we all have to pull together and help one another. That is one of the biggest assets when it comes to working for any company - collaboration. Working in any creative industry you’re constantly working with other people weather it’s brainstorming, group projects, or just a simple opinion. If you don’t work well with other people just remember; no project goes through without being overseen by someone else.

Just want to update everyone on the photoshoot we had the other day. It went very well, it was great working with the models and photographers.

JUST RELAX

Hey guys! Sorry we missed a day, my fellow interns and I were swamped with stuff to do in the showroom yesterday. Hope everyone's weekend was good though. Mine was great, I finally saw Eat Pray Love, and I'm so glad I did. One major thing Julia Roberts taught me was how important it is to enjoy life and all its pleasures. When you relax and center yourself, you become more beautiful on the inside and out.
Here are a few good tips we all should live by (especially the interns and I when we are freaking out at the here office!):
1. Olive Oil
Rubbing olive oil all over the face and body reduces stress, moisturizes and can even prevent skin cancer.
2.Hot Bubble Bath
A hot bath is therapy for your body. The warm water creates circulation and eases your muscles from tensing up. Although most of us don’t have time to indulge in a spa treatment on a regular basis, once a week is enough and worth it; you will thank your self later.
3. Yoga
When your mentally overwhelmed and feel physically depleted, doing yoga is a great way to escape. Yoga not only helps flexibility and circulation, but it gives you energy and endorphins. It takes mental strength to focus on poses and when you are truly zoned, your mind becomes clear.
4. Meditate
I know its hard, but the only way to stop yourself from getting wrinkles is by reducing stress. Stop stressing and take one hour of your day devoted to yourself, and just let go. Let all the worries, thoughts and frustration you have go, and find your balance. Focus on relaxing.

Beach Fun

Well guys it’s Friday once again and I’m ready to enjoy my weekend. Hopefully some of you took my advice and wore a clutch last weekend if you went anywhere. Unfortunately I didn’t go out last weekend but this weekend I’m probably heading to the beach so I won’t need to wear one. Our summer in Los Angeles has been gloomy so far but to my surprise it has started to warm up. When going to the beach I think it’s best to take as little as possible. A must have of course is a bikini! Some hot bikini trends this summer include teeny bikinis, cutouts, prints, and bright colors. Usually I’ll take a bikini, a dress or cover up, a tote and I’m ready to go! I’m thinking of going to Mailbu beach so I can go to Paradise Cove. We at Team Charlie love this restaurant! The cool thing about it is that the tables are in the sand and the waiters serve you basically right on the beach! I can’t take wait to just lounge and relax in the sun! If you’re in Los Angeles or somewhere else with nice weather try to stop by a beach this weekend and get some sun! Remember its Vitamin D! Lol.

After enjoying my long day off yesterday, I walked into Charlie Lapson this morning and found out that I missed out on a few “special guests” that came to visit Charlie in the showroom yesterday. As a fellow intern stated, “they were scrumptious”. When ever we have eye candy walk in is when I'm not present! It's so unfair.
To continue with this jealousy rant I have going, I’d like to add how envious I am that Charlie attended the “So You Think You Can Dance” competition, met with the judges, hung out with the very talented choreographer Stacey Tookey and mingled with contestants backstage. Not only am I a huge fan of the show, but the male dancer are so good looking this season! I swear I am not as boy crazy as I seem. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…

Inside C751

I really don’t even know where to begin. I just picked up the laptop and started typing. I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re all a little overwhelmed. Today I walked into the showroom and it was a disaster. Not in a bad way, the interns were just organizing and taking inventory of the clutches. As the project came to a finish Charlie walked in. We were organizing the clutches by style instead of color. They normally are organized by color but we wanted to try something new and we actually thought it would be easier to find a clutch when needed. Charlie disagreed, he wanted it to remain with the original system that we had (organized by color).

Lesson learned - NEVER assume. As an intern you should always be willing to ask questions so you don’t mess up the first time. The biggest way to get recognition is getting the job done right, the first time. Yes, you will have cases of trial and error but, there are simple ways to save yourself time and energy (check out my last post for more tips!). The other big project which I’ve mentioned before are the celebrity profiles. We originally had one person working on the celebrity profiles one by one (hundreds by way). This project needs to get pushed out of the way and completed. Now, we have everyone taking 10-20 profiles each day to move things along quicker. The newest big project is inventory of the watches. This will be a very long process and will need to be done right the first to avoid disorganizing the watches, again. The goal is to get these watches out, entered into the computers, and put away.

We also had a huge meeting. Everyone was there from the interns to the office managers. We talked about everything from social media/marketing to prepping for two events coming up at the end of this month. Like all of the other meetings this was very helpful and I’m definite that everyone left the table satisfied with their tasks. The only way a business can be ran is if everyone is communicating. Meetings with your co-workers are very important and it’s important to ask all questions and catch up well everyone is together. Aside from that, I’m very excited for the events to come at the end of this month and although I can’t give to many details right now I will in a future posting!

Makeover Takeover

Today my fellow interns and I decided to experiment with the make-up and hair products we have here in the showroom. It was so much fun! We completely transformed our boss, Liz, and gave her a whole new look. Here's how we did it...

Step 1: Preparing the Make-Up

For a fresh look, our make-up artist, Rochelle, picked natural brown shadows, a warm honey bronzer, and a pink shimmer gloss.
Step 2: Mixing colors to match Liz's skin tone.

Step 3: Hair!
Liz already has gorgeous natural curls, so Rochelle decided to just add a couple more waves to give her mane some volume... The more volume the better!

Step 4: Ready to Go Out!

Make-up is natural yet still enhances her beauty; her auburn curls have body and frame her face perfectly, well done Rochelle!

Emma chose this comfortable, classy look with a ruffeled tunic, jeans, wedges and a Charlie Lapson snake skin clutch. We give this look a perfect 10!

Anyways, we got to get back to work before Charlie finds out what we've been doing this whole time. Shhh!

Social Media Madness & A Few Tips!

This past week here at showroom C751 also known as the Charlie Lapson Group has been been hectic. I’m excited to say we will soon be starting our own street style blog. This blog entails all of the interns taking the camera with us whenever we leave the office and taking pictures of fashionable people. The people don’t even have to be fashion forward... if to us, they are showing self individuality and creativity through there fashion then we take a picture and post it on Tumblr. This will be a great way for us to express our eye for style and for our readers to get a sense of who we are in fashion.

One specific assignment that’s been driving everyone crazy in the office are the celebrity profiles. We have to go through each celebrity (hundreds by the way) that has ever collaborated with Charlie Lapson in anyway and profile them. This includes but not limited to; name, address, events we’ve seen them at, occupation (movies, songs, etc), awards, current work, and much much more. This is very time consuming and involves tons of research. This project needs to be done by the end of this week - IMPOSSIBLE! But where there is a will there is a way, we just need some will. Aside from that I would like to make this blog resourceful. With that said I would also like to give a few great tips for anyone entering the world of fashion.

You can’t really avoid the “brutality” of fashion but you can prepare for it. What I’ve learned is to be vocal. Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion or your ideas - when the moment is right. This is a creative industry and to get creative concepts you have to flush the bad ones out. You do this by realizing what works and what doesn’t. You won’t ever know that without voicing it, when it is asked for. Be a leader and not a follower. This goes a long way. If you need to stay longer and work harder then so be it. Fashion doesn’t have many holidays so be prepared to make sacrifices. Figure out what is important to you and set your priorities - once they are set, stick with them!

Show consistency. Just because you do one assignment right, don’t expect to be awarded. Consistently do things RIGHT, whether or not you get recognition. But, however do expect to get a slap on the hand if you don’t do something right. In Kelly Cutrone’s words - “watch out for the village girl”. The “village girl” comes from a small town but, works VERY hard. She will do the job right and put forth her 100 percent effort no matter what. She will get far... in the beginning she goes unnoticed amongst her co-workers but in the end, she succeeds. In the amidst of all of this make sure be good to everyone on the way up the ladder... because, it is inevitable you will see them again on your way down.

Thank God It’s Friday! I don’t know about you guys but I’m sooo ready for the weekend! The weather is pretty nice today so I’m hoping it lasts throughout the weekend. Anyway I’m pretty sure you guys already know that we at Team Charlie LOVE handbags as do most women. As much as we love handbags we also adore clutches! Since it’s the weekend, this is the perfect opportunity to get some use out of a clutch that you may have or even purchase a new one! Clutches are so useful and convenient and at times can be even be better than a handbag. Wherever you’re going, whether it’s a party, event, dinner, or even just a night on the town, a clutch is a great accessory to add to any outfit. It adds a little bit of flare and funk to your outfit rather than just using the typical handbag. If you’re going to a party or club no one wants to carry all of your stuff in a handbag. Now If you’re going to an event or dinner, an oversized clutch may be the best thing for you. Since it’s still summer I would say pair a bright clutch with your outfit. I love wearing bright colors in summer not to mention bright bold clutches. I think it’s even cool to wear a contrasting color just to add a little bit of edge to your outfit.

Our Favorite 2010 Hair Trend

Aren’t you getting sick of the standard messy bun, or the slicked back pony? We are too, and we found that this side braid is creative yet still keeps the hair out of your face. No matter the color of hair, or if roots need touching up, this style is chic for everyone.

The side braid looks best when it is effortlessly thrown across the shoulder, with some strands loosely framing the face.

If you want get the runway look, your going to need a lot of hair (cheat with some clip-ins) to make your braid full and less sporty.

Oh how I Love Minx Nails!

It’s another beautiful day in downtown LA and we have another great beauty trend for the week! Many of you are probably already familiar with it, but for those that aren’t you’ll be enlightened. We at Team Charlie love the Minx Nail Trend! This is probably one of the biggest nail trends of the summer. Minx nails are basically adhesive nail stickers applied to nails using a heating lamp. They come in cool fun colors and patterns and you can sometimes even get your own pattern made depending on the salon. You get can plain regular colors or even something edgy like zebra or leopard print. I really want to get either leopard or gold/silver metallic. Though I really LOVE leopard so I'll probably go with that once I get some! With minx nails, there’s no drying time, no chemicals, and they never smudge or chip. Once they’ve been applied, there’s no blowing on your nails for 15 minutes or sitting under a fan, you’re free to go. They usually last around two weeks, which is relative considering what you do with your hands. The only con is that they can be pretty expensive ranging from $ 30-$80. However, if you’re on a budget and can’t really afford the look, we at Team Charlie have found the look for less! It’s simple, just apply the nail patch over your finger or toe and you're ready to go! Check your local nail salons for minx application or just stop by your nearest Sephora and just do it yourself! I haven't had my own minx nail experience yet but once I do I'll be sure to post! I found the perfect Charlie Lapson clutch to wear along with my nails once I get them done! Creative Energy at Work!

Organizing the showroom has put a bit of a hold on smaller projects but, now that the office is more than halfway taken care of I was able to take care of those projects. We’ve been actively talking to fashion bloggers and contacting up coming bloggers. Some of us in the office came up with the idea of designing a flyer to handout to fashion students who are maybe interested in blogging. We wanted to do something fun, colorful, and all around creative. Although this was a very small project I had so much fun working on it because I got to put some of my creative energy to work. Here is a picture I took with my blackberry! Tell us what you think! The best possible advice I can give anyone in any creative industry is to never stop being creative! Exercise your creativity everyday - even if it's with small projects like this!

Animals are Taking Over!

There has been a lot of buzz today here in the showroom about animal print, whether it will be the fall/winter trend. So I decided to do some reasearch. But the first thing that came to mind when I thought of leopard print was out dated furniture.

Can your grandmother's leopard print coach really be the next fashion trend? I've had mixed feelings about this bold statement for years. But the question is, will this fashion disaster turn into a fashion success?

Charlie just got back from Tokyo, host of Japan Fashion Week 2010, and has spilled some of the trends for fall/winter. Lots of leather and lace, but we could’ve guessed they always come hand and hand right?… (Stevie Nicks-Leather and Lace, one of my all time favorites).

But the big thing to watch for are the animals--soon to take over the world! Or at least the fashion world. Loads of croc and alligator, leopard, cheetah, zebra, what ever print it may be, these prints are now taking a classic route for this fall/winter. Leopard coats, real or faux- oddly enough-will be a HUGE staple for the season.

Mondays not so fun days!

My weekend wasn’t all that bad. It was actually very nice and relaxing. I had a much needed trip to Disneyland. It was my second visit to the private Club 33. The seafood bar had me feeling rather sick from eating so much. It’s so nice to be able to take your time and eat and avoid the large crowds that Disneyland often has. After our brunch we took a ride on the haunted mansion - which was a lot of fun!

So it’s Monday! I know everyday is supposed to cherished! I was once told that everyday is a day given to us from God. Well, I have to wonder - did Satan give us Monday’s? He must of snuck that one in. Anyway, we’re here in the office getting ready for this months event. We also have a lot of organizing to do before Charlie gets back this week.

Raz and I have been talking about all of the summer trends from fashion, design, beauty, and everything in between. She actually linked to a little blog that Nylon did on a summer trend that Razz and I both noticed. I’ll link to that. Wavy beach hair is definitely in right now. I can see why... this summer has been scorching! Fun, wavy, light, hair is perfect from a nice summer brunch to a warm evening... even if you’re away from the beach! Summer's Heating Up

Last week we couldn’t go a day with out gloom, now this week we can barely escape the beaming rays of heat; why can’t the weather just make up its mind? This weather has made it difficult to keep cool and stay looking fabulous.

Here at the showroom Charlie inspires us to stay looking fresh and fabulous at all times. We’ve learned that presence is everything, and we should always be conscious when expressing ourselves through fashion. So we took some time today to find the best summer tips that will classically cool off your look.

1. No more dark smoky eyes! Go for a Bold, Bright and Blue eye-shadow.
2. Give your hair a break from the flat iron and put it up in a cute ballerina bun. Or go for a more relaxed look in a messy bun.
3. Go for a light-weight silky top or dress.
4. Switch from a big bulky handbag to a functional clutch.
Functional fashion is a must in the showroom because we are always busy on our feet. These tips will definitely pay off for the rest of summer!

I Can Always Count on Charlie

What is with this weather? Is it just me or are people moody when its gloomy? When I came to Southern California I envisioned it would be sunny and warm every day but over this past week I’ve found that is far from the truth. Skies are dark and depressing but it is not as miserable as my past Summers in Moscow. The weather there is hot and dry, so I consider us lucky. On a day like this I can always count on Charlie’s bright bags bringing light to my day.

June Gloom in July

So today at Charlie Lapson Group our office manager Linsey came in looking downcast. She was wearing her usual all black and I felt it my duty to cheer her up. I believe it has something to do with the June Gloom that’s been sneaking its way into July that’s bringing us all down. So to bring back the glow we know and love in Linseys beautiful face we picked some of our sunniest bags to brighten up her outfit. And they pop! We chose 4 bags. They are all Italian leather, as we at Charlie Lapson love to bring up in a conversation at any time. My favorite was the gold and black with the leaf pattern but Linsey fell in love with a glittering soft leather tote. It brightened up her outlook and she’s been in a better mood all day just carrying this sparkling gem on her shoulder. Take a look at how it all came together. Just another day as Emma the stylist on Team Charlie! Its crazy but now amazingly the sun is now out and shining down on us. It seems our bags brightened more than just our outlook but all of LA too!

NO SUMMER VACA IN FASHION!

It's my first day back in the showroom since graduation from FIDM! Now that I've graduated I can put more time and energy into the Charlie Lapson Group which, is exactly what I plan on. Even though it's summer this doesn't entail a vacation for me. Instead of endless summer nights next to the beaches of Los Angeles I will be here, in the Charlie Lapson showroom - working towards my future. I can see that it isn't very nice outside which makes it easier to concentrate - lets me know that I'm not missing anything out of the office. We have an event coming up this month and preparation for this has been stressful. It's kind of surreal how many hours go into prepping for an event and then when it's time for the actual event it comes and goes. Aside from all of that we've been in the process of organizing the showroom. Everything is sort of everywhere at the moment but, I"m looking at the end result. I think what is really going to get me through this week is a Red Bull... or five. I'm actually naturally energetic so, a Red Bull might be uneccessary. This might be random but I've recently found a new hobby. I've been making collages and adding anything I find inspirational to a huge sketch book that I have. It's a lot of fun to go back and look at what I've created and in a way I've used it as a reference book. This is also a book of memorabilia because I've also added concert tickets, movie tickets, and photos, along with anything else that can be pasted into a book. Better get back to work. I'll let everyone know how this week turns out!

Hi everybody! It has been a crazy week at Charlie Lapson group. Last weekend was the Daytime Emmy Awards and we had a few celebrities come in to get decked out in Charlie Lapson jewels and accessories. It seems my dream of being a Hollywood stylist is a step closer since being here this week! I got to choose from a plethora of gorgeous necklaces, earrings and bracelets what would go best with Charlie’s good friend Adrienne Frantz’s red dress. She came in and was delighted to pick from what I had laid out and ended up with a gold clutch and gold and silver jewelry. I was amazed at how it all came together so beautifully. We also got to pick out clutches and jewels for the luminous Beth Chamberlain (Guiding Light) who was wearing a champagne colored dress. As soon as I saw her dress I knew the perfect clutch to go with it. Check out the photos below!

Also this weekend is Fourth of July and after such a busy week in the office I’m excited for a few days off. I am headed to a pool party in Anaheim hills and I know that I will be dressed to impress in red white and blue! Raz and I decided to pull a few of our favorite bags that inspired us for the weekend. Whoa! What a crazy day here at The Charlie Lapson Headquarters. We had the UTB Film Crew in the showroom getting takes from Charlie on the hottest styles for summer. Not only was it my first behind the scenes experience, I also got to assist Charlie pulling some of the jewelry and handbags. I loved the fact that I was able to watch Charlie in action presenting his amazing collection. He has such a great vision and I hope to continue learning from him. Disappointed by the unpleasant June gloom weather, I swung the CMC lobby door open, jumped in an elevator, strutted out on the 7th floor and headed toward the room decorated in handbags. My weary attitude left the building and adrenaline rushed through my body as I proceeded through the glass doors; it was then that I realized today was going to be a great day.

Nearly a month that I have been an intern here at Charlie Lapson Group, and everyday a different handbag catches my eye, or come across an amazing clutch that I never knew existed.

Earlier, I dug through a heavily stocked assortment of bags, aka our “purse factory” , to look for one, very specific, neutral bag. Feeling like a kid in a candy shop, I got very sidetracked from the task at hand as I continued to find unique and intricate bags.

One of my favorites, or at least for today, a lime, lizardy green leather hobo bag, its amazing! And so different. I’ve already imagined myself wearing it with a casual black or white dress. Anyways, I have to stop obsessing and get back to work…. Until next time.

I can’t possibly compare anything to getting off on seventh floor in the Cal-Mart building. It is that very moment when I exit the elevator and head towards the tall glass sliding doors that spell out Charlie Lapson, when I realize where I am. If a few years ago you would have told me I’d be working for the Charlie Lapson Group, I wouldn’t have believed you. I’ve always had a passion for graphic design and a curiosity of the world of fashion and everything that revolves around it. I knew that no matter where I went I had to be able to use my creativity well I was on my career path. Which is why I applied for an internship here at the Charlie Lapson Group.

I have been working for the Charlie Lapson Group since February now. Since being here I’ve had so much experience. I’ve learned the importance of teamwork, deadlines, consistency, etc. On a much larger scale some of my job duties include assisting Charlie, working events, trend forecasting, marketing, photo retouching, photography, and much much more!

I was so excited when I started working in the showroom. I had all these different emotions. I was ecstatic but nervous at the same time. When I told my friends I would start interning for the Charlie Lapson Group they were all very excited for me. Everybody’s first question; do you see a lot of celebrities come into the showroom? I can only answer that with the truth. Well, Charlie does do a lot of business with a variety of celebrity clientele I don’t let that overrule my position and the reason why I’m interning here. The real excitement comes from Charlie’s unique designs. It’s actually amazing to see his idea come from a sketch to a real life product and to be able to hold that finished product.

Emma here. It’s another day in sunny California and just like it’s sunny outside it’s sunny in the Charlie Lapson office. All the bright and yellow handbags bring in as much sunshine as the sun outside. I think I need to wear my glasses in the office from now on. And it would have to be my banana yellow vintage ones to match my new favorite purse by Charlie.

Anyways, I’m so excited with all that is going on in the office. We are working on some projects that you will read about soon. But just to give you teaser and something to look forward to, we are going be working with some major celebrities this month. I will not say who because you need you check back and find out who! I can hardly contain myself, I’m giddy with excitement. Also we just got a new group of handbags in, which is like Christmas to me every time it happens! Our First Blog Entry! This is a view from the inside, the first step into working in the fashion industry. I am Emma, I’m 24 and in fashion school at the Art Institute for marketing. My two coworkers and I will be giving you all the juicy gossip here at the Charlie Lapson Group. There is James; he is a design student at FIDM and Raz. Raz is from Moscow and is a student at Otis, very edgy and knows about all the global fashions.

Hopefully with Raz and James insights combined with my feminine and fashionable standpoint, we will be giving you a good well rounded perspective on what it is like to work here. Charlie Lapson is an amazing accessory designer and stylist, doing handbags, clutches and fine jewelry. He travels all over the world and works with many celebrities, and attends all the biggest Hollywood events.

This opportunity is so exciting for us and that’s why we felt it would be great to share with you! With Charlie’s famous friends and clients coming in to select what they need to go to an awards ceremony and helping with the new 2011, 2012 line we couldn’t be more ecstatic. Though there are trials and tribulations in any internship we know this could be the chance of a lifetime.
